RIP Coffee Maker. You shall be missed. For now.

R.I.P. Black&Decker Brew n' Go. Nearly 12 years of service you gave me.
There once was a coffee maker -- one cup,
Which served Ryan 'till it went belly-up.
'Cause a large leak it's sprung,
Down the curtain it's run,
And it sure as hell won't be replaced by a K-cup.

My apologies to Jubal Harshaw, but when the meter/elision/spondee/trochee doesn't quite work, we just leave it to the editors at The New Yorker. You know, those editors floating around out there who search the webs for wonky poetry.

  1. Twelve years is great for the old B&D. May it rest in peace. [crossing self]

My coffeemaker is a hand-me-down from my sister, who had it for seven or eight years until her husband bought a fancier model. I don't drink coffee too often these days, but this old Mr. Coffee has held up well and still does a great job. May it last for a long time to come.
